Shameless Season 9 expands to 14 episodes that will be split in two parts

The Showtime series usually airs 12 episodes a season. The first seven episodes will air this fall, starting on Sept. 9. The final seven will debut on Jan. 20, 2019. Showtime executives also addressed Shameless' future in the wake of its record-breaking ratings. Showtime president of programming Gary Levine said Shameless "defies gravity," adding: "I don’t mind having them on the air for years to come."
