Ryan Murphy's The Politician is a class takedown with a "Trumpy twist"

President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner's curious acceptance to Harvard -- his dad, real estate developer Charles Kushner, allegedly pledged $2.5 million to get his son in -- was the chief inspiration for Murphy's first Netflix series. In fact, there's a line on the show that seems to be inspired by the college cheating scandal, when it was written eight months before. "All of this has been percolating in the culture, particularly under this president and this idea of Ivanka (Trump) and Jared (as) the sort of satanic poster boy and girl for privilege and nepotism," says Murphy.
