Pilot castings: Lucy Hale is returning to The CW to star in Riverdale spinoff Katy Keene

The Pretty Little Liars alum, whose midseason CW drama Life Sentence was canceled last year, will play the title character on The CW pilot based on the Archie Comics character and her friends. Katy Keene is described as a "bold, big-hearted and independent and a New Yorker with dreams of being a fashion designer."
