Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet manages to accurately portray the gaming world without alienating laypeople

The Apple TV+ gaming studio comedy has opened up the potential of depicting the gaming world. "Mythic Quest doesn’t succeed because it accurately documents daily life at a game studio," says Ben Lindbergh. "In gaming, what matters more than anything is whether the finished product is fun. In comedy, what matters more than anything is whether it’s funny. Mythic Quest is funny, deliciously satirical and, at times, touching. It’s probably the best live-action TV series ever made about video games, but at its core, it’s a workplace comedy where the workplace is new but the comedy is time-tested.
