Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner is poised to return to basic cable with a half-hour FX mystery dramedy

Weiner would write, executive produce and direct the mystery dramedy, reports Variety, adding that details of the potential series are being kept under wraps. The FX project would mark Weiner's return to basic cable after Mad Men's series finale in 2015. Weiner's last TV series, 2018 Amazon anthology drama The Romanoffs, was met with mixed to negative reviews.
