Gremlins animated series is in the works for WarnerMedia's streaming service

  • WarnerMedia's upcoming streaming service is planning an animated series based on the 1984 hit horror-comedy film that was directed by Joe Dante, written by Christopher Columbus and produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. "The potential series is said to be a period piece that would follow Mr. Wing, the Chinese grandfather played in the films by Keye Luke, as a young man as he goes on adventures with the friendly Mogwai Gizmo," according to Variety, which ads that it will be produced by Warner Bros. and Amblin Entertainment. Tze Chun, who directed the 2013 Bryan Cranston film Cold Comes the Night and 2009's Children of Invention, will serve as writer and executive producer.
