CNN president Jeff Zucker is expected to decide soon if he'll exit -- or "keep riding the ratings wave"

Amid surging ratings, Zucker enjoys broad newsroom support at CNN -- especially after he fought budget cuts last year, arguing that CNN is extremely profitable and it would look like a negative to Trump and his supporters if staffers were laid off, reports Vanity Fair's Joe Pompeo. So, says Pompeo, "Are his days at CNN numbered, or will he stay on at least through the end of his current contract, which has about a year left on it? Staffers apparently won’t have to wait much longer to hear from Zucker with an answer to that question. 'It will be very soon,' someone close to him told me." UPDATE: Zucker said Thursday he'll stay at CNN through the rest of 2021.
