The California Highway Patrol drama series debuted on Sept. 15, 1977, making stars out of Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox over its six-season run. It also featured Chris Pine’s dad, Robert, as Sgt. Joseph Getraer and, briefly, Bruce (now Caitlyn) Jenner.
