ABC teams with Mel Brooks on Young Frankenstein Live! TV musical

The 2007 live Broadway musical adaptation of Brooks' classic 1974 comedy film will be ABC's next live TV musical. “Based on the Broadway stage version of Young Frankenstein, Young Frankenstein Live! will follow Mel Brooks’ and Gene Wilder’s comedic reimagining of the Mary Shelley classic novel,” ABC said in a statement. “The live production will feature music from the stage adaptation, originally composed by Brooks.” Roger Bart, Megan Mullally and Sutton Foster starred in the original Broadway production, which earned three Tony nominations. No airdate has been set for the Brooks-produced Young Frankenstein Live!
