Why did Hunter Biden slam George Clooney in profanity-filled tirade? Joe Biden’s son accuses actor of sabotaging father’s presidential bid

Hunter Biden is seemingly not a fan of George Clooney. The son of former POTUS Joe Biden recently went on a rant criticizing the Ocean's Eleven star.

For those unaware, a year after Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race, his son did an over three-hour-long interview with Andrew Callaghan (for Channel 5). Hunter touched upon various subjects during his conversation with the YouTuber/journalist. However, his tirade against George Clooney and other Democrats was among the key highlights.

The younger Biden slammed the Hollywood star for trying to force his father out of the presidential race. Hunter mentioned Clooney’s New York Times op-ed, in which the latter referenced his meeting with the 46th US President at a fundraiser. In his opinion piece, the Tomorrowland actor questioned Joe Biden’s presidential bid by raising concerns over his health. George Clooney wrote,

“It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020.”

In his article titled “I Love Joe Biden. But We Need a New Nominee,” Clooney also wrote about the sitting POTUS’ debate with then-GOP candidate Trump and the former’s interview with George Stephanopoulos. He added,

“We are not going to win in November with this president. On top of that, we won’t win the House, and we’re going to lose the Senate. This isn’t only my opinion; this is the opinion of every senator and Congress member and governor who I’ve spoken with in private. Every single one, irrespective of what he or she is saying publicly.”

Hunter Biden criticized George Clooney, claiming he made up the story “about how the president had to be introduced to him.” He made another allegation against the Hollywood icon for trying to undermine his father’s presidential bid.

Joe Biden officially dropped out of the 2024 election race on July 21, 2025, which allowed Kamala Harris to step in as the Democrat candidate. Hunter alleged George Clooney and other Democrats tried to force his father out of the race.

While the younger Biden mentioned the Hollywood actor’s op-ed, he also alleged,

“George Clooney wasn't going to show up to that fundraiser and he was b*tching to the White House staff and to the people on the senior staff that he was so angry that the president would not… would criticize the arrest warrant that was executed for Netanyahu.”

According to the Associated Press, Clooney’s wife and a prominent human rights lawyer, Amal Alamuddin, was among those who advocated for the ICC’s (International Criminal Court) arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Hunter Biden mentioned the same in his interview and added,

“I don't judge that in one way or another was the right thing or not. He was very, very angry that my dad did not, I guess like, pay homage to her or something.”

Hunter Biden mentioned the alleged texts that Clooney wrote:

“I saw the text messages that he wrote, you know, reams of text messages like how dare he do that. And he kept promising that he was going to embarrass the president and pull out of the fundraiser.”

Andrew Callaghan also shared another story about Clooney, claiming he forced Jack Black to denounce his Tenacious D bandmate, Kyle Gass, for his remarks on the Trump assassination attempt. While Black condemned Gass’ comments and cancelled his tour, there’s no confirmation whether Clooney forced him to do so.

After listening to Callaghan’s story, Hunter Biden immediately cussed out,

“F*** him. F*** him. F*** him and everybody around him. I don't have to be f***ing nice. Number one, I agree with Quinton Tarantino. F***ing George Clooney is not a f***ing actor. He is a f***ing, like, I don't know what he is. He's a brand.”

Hunter claimed that George Clooney is friends with Barack Obama and "supposedly" treats all of his friends well. He continued his rant against the Hollywood star, while name-dropping other Democrats as well.
