Jamie Campbell Bower Performs Lizzo Song Using His Stranger Things' Vecna Voice

In a now-viral clip from The Tonight Show, Bower recites famous lines and lyrics as Vecna.
  • Jamie Campbell Bower stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night and showed off his Stranger Things Vecna voice, to the delight of viewers.

"It took a few months to get right," Bower said of the vocal work. He told Fallon that his first version of Vecna "started in this very kind of nasally area. More like Freddy Krueger — and it just wasn't landing. So I went home and worked on it, did a bunch of reference work for Hellraiser and Doug Bradley, particularly. It said that this deep, booming voice kinda comes out of the darkness and I was like, 'Oh yeah, you can tell.'"

In a now-viral clip, Fallon asks the actor to recite various famous lines and lyrics from pop culture using the voice of Vecna.

"We put some of your lines on cue cards," says Fallon, "and the twist is that they're all things that Vecna would never say."

Bower then seamlessly switches over to his deep, creepy Vecna voice, while staring directly at the camera to say, "I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy asking him to love her."

He went on to recite lines from Coco Puffs commercials, Titanic, and general affirmations, before delivering the showstopping lines from Lizzo's song "About Damn Time," as the audience cheered in excitement.

Stranger Things is currently streaming on Netflix.
