Andrew Garfield has signed on to headline Hot Air, a limited series that will focus on the rise of Virgin Airways, Deadline reports. Garfield will play Richard Branson, the British entrepreneur, billionaire, and founder of the Virgin Group.

David Leitch (Deadpool 2, John Wick) will direct the series, which is reported to have inspired competition among multiple major networks and streaming services.

Hot air is based on the book Dirty Tricks by author and investigative journalist Martyn Gregory. The book tells the complex and fascinating story of the rise of Branson's Virgin Airways, which was in direct competition with British Airways in the 1990s.

The casting news comes just after Garfield received his first Emmy nomination for the FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven. The actor was also recently nominated for an Academy Award for his work in tick, tick… BOOM!.
