Barack Obama Is Just As Curious About UFOs As The Rest Of Us

  • As it turns out, former President Barack Obama might be watching late-night alien programming, just like the rest of us. During a new interview with James Corden, Obama was asked about "dem aliens" and UFOs, and he revealed that when he got into office, he immediately asked about government labs for "alien specimens" and spacecrafts. The answer? Well...

Rather than ask the UFO question himself, Corden turned things over to his bandleader, Reggie Watts. "All this talk about dem aliens with the you know, what are they, [UAPs] or whatever they call them, you know all the footage," said Watts, referencing the government's official term for UFOs, Unidentified Aerial Phenomena). "I know that doesn't necessarily mean aliens, it is just a [UAP], but I was wondering if you have a theory about that?"

"Well, when it comes to aliens, there's some things I just can't tell you on air," replied Obama, earning a laugh from Watts. "But the truth is that when I came into office, I asked, right, I was like alright, is there the lab somewhere where we're keeping the alien specimens and space ship? And you know, they did a little bit of research and the answer was no."

However, Obama believes there's still more to investigate when it comes to the alien phenomenon. "What is true, and I'm actually being serious here, is that there are — there's footage and records of objects in the skies that we don't know exactly what they are. We can't explain how they moved, their trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable pattern. And so, you know I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is. But I have nothing to report to you today."

The Late Late Show with James Corden airs weeknights at 12:35 AM ET on CBS.
