Finale Time for Peacemaker, Netflix's Wu Assassins Gets a Spinoff Movie

    John Cena’s quest to bring about tranquility comes to an end today as Peacemaker wraps its first season on HBO Max. Plus, the story of Wu Assassins continues in standalone film Fistful of Vengeance, Netflix debuts new shorts Erax and Heart Shot, and Paramount+ adapts the best-selling book series Big Nate for the small screen. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Thursday:

    Peacemaker: Season finale. John Cena’s anti-hero journey ends after eight weeks of well-utilized cliffhangers and pop culture references. HBO Max has already renewed The Suicide Squad spinoff for Season 2 following its successful debut outing. Watch preview. Streaming on HBO Max

    Fistful of Vengeance: Original film. The Wu Assassin team reunites in Bangkok to avenge the death of one of their own, only to find that their new enemy is an ancient threat armed with otherworldly powers.     Big Nate: Series premiere. Precocious 11-year-old Nate (voiced by Ben Giroux) and his best friends navigate sixth grade with humor and style in Nickelodeon’s animated take on the best-selling children’s book.     Erax: Original short film. Monstrous creatures leap from a magical storybook and unleash mayhem for Auntie Opal (Jasmine Cephas Jones) and her young niece in this spooky short. Streaming on Netflix

    Heart Shot: Original short film. Netflix’s day of shorts continues with an LGBTQ+ drama about Nikki and Sam, (Elena Heuzé and Nia Sondaya), teenagers in love. The two are planning their future together, but when Nikki’s dangerous past returns, it threatens to derail everything. Streaming on Netflix
