Gentefied Returns, Luke Bryan Hosts the CMAs, Netflix Communes with Nature

    18 months after it last graced our screens, critically-acclaimed dramedy Gentefied returns to Netflix today for its second season. Plus, Luke Bryan hosts the 55th CMA Awards, Netflix brings some star power to its newest nature docuseries, and Sundance drama Passing arrives on streaming. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Wednesday:

    Gentefied: Complete second season. The Morales cousins (J.J. Soria, Karrie Martin, and Carlos Santos) fight to keep Pop (Joaquín Cosío) in the country, all while dealing with new love, new babies, estranged fathers, and the potential loss of their beloved taco shop.     55th Annual CMA Awards: Award show. Singer and American Idol judge Luke Bryan takes the stage for country music’s biggest night, live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are among the stars slated to perform. Watch preview. 8:00 PM ET on ABC

    Animal: Complete first season. Netflix’s cameras capture the most magnificent creatures in their natural habitats in a new nature docuseries featuring narration from Andy Serkis, Bryan Cranston, Pedro Pascal, Uzo Aduba, and Rebel Wilson. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    Passing: Original film. Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga star in this drama about two Black women who can “pass” as white but choose to live on opposite sides of the color line during the Harlem Renaissance in 1920s New York. Netflix acquired the film following its successful debut at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and it’s expected to be an awards contender for the streamer. Watch trailer.     The Masked Singer: Two celebrities in disguise will be eliminated and unmasked as the final four Group A singers compete in the semifinals. Featuring guest panelist (and Alter Ego judge) will.i.am. 8:00 PM ET on FOX

    Married at First Sight: Season finale. As Decision Day looms, the Houston couples must choose whether to stay together or go their separate ways. Immediately fhe two-hour finale, a new special looks back at the couples’ most “fierce and fabulous moments.” 8:00 PM ET on Lifetime

    Survivor: Last week's shocker of a Tribal behind them, the remaining castaways scramble to solidify their alliances and jockey for position. Watch preview. 8:00 PM ET on CBS

    Clifford the Big Red Dog: Original film. Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp), her giant hound Clifford, and her impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on a New York City adventure in Paramount’s updated take on the beloved Scholastic book character. Debuts concurrently in theaters and on Paramount+. Watch trailer. Streaming on Paramount+
