Streaming Brings the Multiplex Home With Finch, The Electrical Life of Louis Wain

    Tom Hanks and Benedict Cumberbatch are just two of the big names headed to the small screen this weekend as Apple TV+ and Amazon kick off awards season in earnest with the streaming debuts of Finch and The Electrical Life of Louis Wain. Also, Michael C. Hall returns in Showtime's Dexter: New Blood, Yellowstone gets a two-hour Season 4 premiere, and Kieran Culkin hosts Saturday Night Live. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this weekend:

    FRIDAY NOVEMBER 5

    Finch: Original film. Tom Hanks stars in this post-apocalyptic drama as a robotics engineer who embarks upon a perilous journey to ensure that his beloved canine companion and his newly-created robot (voiced by Caleb Landry Jones) will be cared for after his death.     The Electrical Life of Louis Wain: Original film. Benedict Cumberbatch and Claire Foy dramatize the extraordinary true story of British artist Louis Wain, who sought to unlock the “electrical” mysteries of the world at the turn of the 20th century.     Big Mouth: Complete fifth season. Nick Kroll’s adult animated comedy introduces lovebugs and hate worms as a new batch of celebrity guest voices lend new color to the lives of our favorite favorite pubescent teens . Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    Narcos: Mexico: Complete third season (series finale). With Felix (Diego Luna) in jail, a war breaks out among the cartels, but a new generation of Mexican kingpins manage to emerge from the political upheaval and escalating violence. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    Dickinson: Season premiere. Emily Dickinson’s (Hailee Steinfeld) poetry career stalls as the American Civil War rages around her, and a fierce battle divides her own family. Watch trailer. Streaming on Apple TV+

    Love Hard: Original film. When an unlucky-in-love L.A. girl (Nina Dobrev) falls for a rugged East Coast guy (Darren Barnet) on a dating app, she decides to fly across the country and surprise him for the holidays — only to discover that she’s been catfished by his childhood friend (Jimmy O.     Animaniacs: Complete second season. The Warners and Pinky and the Brain are back wreaking havoc everywhere they go, from an international beauty pageant to outer space.     A Man Named Scott: Original documentary. Filmed over a decade, director Robert Alexander’s new documentary tracks the journey of Scott Mescudi, aka Kid Cudi, as he makes music, battles anxiety and depression, and settles into a new phase of his career.
