The One with the Star-Studded Reunion Finally Hits HBO Max

    A year to the date it was originally scheduled to help launch HBO Max, Friends: The Reunion is finally hitting the streaming platform. The new special reunites all six of the iconic sitcom’s stars  and is set to feature guest appearances from a vertible who's who in the entertainment business.

    Also today: Live music returns to the iHeartRadio Awards, Grey’s Anatomy prepares to close out its seventeenth season, and NBC celebrates Red Nose Day with a special episode of The Wall. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Thursday:

    SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer return to Stage 24 for HBO Max’s long-awaited Friends: The Reunion. For the first time in nearly 20 years, our favorite friends walk through their apartment set, play a game of trivia, and determine, once and for all, whether Ross (Schwimmer) and Rachel (Aniston) were really on a break.     AWARDS SHOW: Usher hosts the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Performers include Ariana Grande and The Weeknd, Elton John, Dan + Shay, and Doja Cat. 8:00 PM ET on FOX

    NEW EPISODE: Levi (Jake Borelli) gets accepted into the hospital’s vaccine trial, and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) treat a car crash patient in the penultimate episode of Grey’s Anatomy Season 17. Watch preview. 9:00 PM ET on ABC

    SPECIAL PRESENTATION: NBC is marking Red Nose Day this year with a special celebrity-filled edition of The Wall. Host Chris Hardwick will raise money for a Houston family by testing his own skills on the wall, and viewers are encouraged to donate to the fundraiser throughout the hourlong event. 8:00 PM ET on NBC

    ORIGINAL MOVIE: Dennis Quad stars in Blue Miracle, a based-on-true-events drama about a Mexican orphanage devastated by Hurricane Odile in 2014. In order to raise money, the residents and staff partner with a washed-up boat captain (Quaid) to win a lucrative fishing competition. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    SEASON FINALE: The remaining ten contestants of The Challenge: All Stars face off in one final over-the-top challenge in the Andes Mountains of Argentina. The winner will take home a $500,000 grand prize. Streaming on Paramount+

    SPECIAL PRESENTATION: BET wraps its three-night look at the fight for racial justice and equality in the year since George Floyd's death with Justice Now: The Way Forward, featuring interviews with Philonise Floyd, U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley and the NAACP's Derrick Johnson. Soledad O'Brien hosts. 8:00 PM ET on BET

    SEASON FINALE: Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta alum Joseline Hernandez looks to the future in the Joseline’s Cabaret: Miami finale, but after an incident with Daisy and Chazzity, she debates moving forward without them. 10:00 PM ET on WE

    SEASON PREMIERE: Alice Hines explores different fandoms and cults of personality in VICE’s Fanatics: The Deep End. Episode 1 tracks the rise of QAnon, the internet phenomenon that exploded in the Trump years. 11:30 PM ET on VICE.
