Amy Poehler is beloved for her role as take-no-nonsense Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation, and more recently as the co-host of NBC's Making It. Now, though she often jokes about not being a maker herself, Poehler has made her third feature film as a director. Moxie — based on the young adult novel by Jennifer Mathiea — tells the story of Vivian Carter (Hadley Robinson), who learns her mother Lisa (Poehler) was a Riot Grrrl in the nineties, and is inspired to revive the fight at her high school by distributing a feminist zine.
