Tom and Jerry, Two Billies and The Golden Globes Lead a Packed Weekend

    It's a Peak TV battle of the Billies this weekend as Hulu enters the late season Oscar race with its Billie Holiday biopic on the same day Apple TV+ premieres its Billie Eilish documentary. Also this weekend: Tom and Jerry bring their cat and mouse game to HBO Max, Nick Jonas pulls double duty on SNL, and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler helm the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Here's what's new and noteworthy this weekend on TV:

    FRIDAY FEBRUARY 26

    ORIGINAL MOVIE: Director Lee Daniels and actress Andra Day tell the story of a great American talent who found herself in the sights of the U.S. government in The United States vs. Billie Holiday. Watch trailer. Streaming on Hulu

    DOCUMENTARY: Director R.J. Cutler shines a light on the early days of an improbable superstar in Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry, which includes footage of Eilish recording her first album in her teenage bedroom and tracks her sharp trajectory to worldwide fame.     ORIGINAL MOVIE: The latest Warner Bros theatrical film to get a day-and-date release on HBO Max is Tom & Jerry. The animated/live-action hybrid tells the origin story of the clasic Hanna-Barbera characters who've been the best of enemies for since 1940. Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña and Colin Jost star.     SEASON FINALE: The second season of Dickinson comes to a close with an episode titled after Emily Dickson's poem You Cannot Put a Fire Out. Streaming on Apple TV+

    ANIMATED MOVIE: The follow up to 2017's Son of Bigfoot sees Father using his newfound fame to fight an Alaska oil company in Bigfoot Family. But when he disappears, his family must head north to rescue him. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    MADE FOR TV MOVIE: A bride-to-be (Zoila Garcia) selects her five best girlfriends to be her bridesmaids, but old wounds and jealousy quickly get in the way and the handiwork of some Brutal Bridesmaids may leave someone dead. 8:00 PM ET on Lifetime

    SEASON FINALE: Back-to-back episodes of Hip Hop Uncovered track the genre's rise to pop culture dominance, turning some of the industry's biggest success stories into modern day Robin Hoods in the process. 9:00 PM ET on FX

    SATURDAY FEBRUARY 27

    NEW EPISODE: Two-time musical guest Nick Jonas returns to Saturday Night Live, this time serving as both host and musical guest. 11:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT on NBC

    NBA BASKETBALL: It's another all-star matchup on ABC's NBA Saturday Primetime as the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic take on Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center. 8:30 PM ET/ 5:30 PM PT on ABC

    MADE FOR TV MOVIE: Elizabeth (When Calls the Heart's Erin Krakow) finds her engagement plans thrown into disarray in It Was Always You when her fiancé's free-spirited brother (Tyler Hynes) returns home. Watch preview. 9:00 PM ET on Hallmark

    MADE FOR TV MOVIE: Inspired by actual events, Girl in the Basement tells the horrific story of a vibrant teen girl (Stefanie Scott) who was looking forward to her 18th birthday so she could move away from her controlling father (Judd Nelson), only for him to imprison her in the basement of their home. 8:00 PM ET on Lifetime

    AWARDS SHOW: Their first three hosting stints earned them legendary status, now they're back: Amy Poehler and Tina Fey co-helm the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards, a largely virtual awardscast that will see the duo hosting from opposite coasts, with Poehler in LA and Fey in New York.
