Art is set to imitate life tonight on Superstore as Amy and Jonah's move to California is delayed by the pandemic, mirroring America Ferrera's own delayed exit from the show itself, which had been planned last Spring. Her final episode will air next week.

Also today: Filmmaker Richard Linklater presents a typically atypical project for CBS All Access, Hoop Dreams' Steve James helms a four-part look at two tumultuous years in Chicago's recent history, and the couples from Married at First Sight reflect on their impulsive life choices. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Thursday:

SEASON PREMIERE: With their impending move to California looming large, Amy (America Ferrera) and Jonah (Ben Feldman) try to bring order to the chaos on on Superstore as Cloud 9's employees learn what it means to be "heroes." Watch the trailer. 8:00 PM ET on NBC

SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Alicia Keys, America Ferrera, And Kerry Washington host Every Vote Counts: A Celebration of Democracy, an hour-long CBS special celebrating the power of voting through music, dance, art, and dialogue. Among those scheduled to participate are Coldplay, Leonardo DiCaprio, Natalie Portman and Shaquille O'Neal. 9:00 PM ET on CBS

SERIES PREMIERE: Writer/director Richard Linklater (Dazed and Confused, Boyhood) is known for creative curveballs, but no one could have predicted his latest project. That Animal Rescue Show is a 10-episode docuseries about an animal rescue in Austin, Texas, showing how the animals change the lives of people they encounter, and vice versa. Watch the trailer. Streaming on CBS All Access

DOCUSERIES PREMIERE: Director Steve James (Hoop Dreams) captures a turbulent two-year period in Chicago in City So Real. The four-part docuseries tracks events from the city's 2018 mayoral race — in which incumbent Rahm Emmanuel opted not to seek reelection — and continues through 2020, as the Windy City faces the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. Watch the trailer. All four parts air tonight at 7:00 PM ET on National Geographic

SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Get into the spirit of Halloween with the two-hour special Ghost Adventures: Horror at Joe Exotic Zoo, in which park staff discuss their unsettling encounters with shadowy figures and murderous freaks. Also, the park may have ghosts. Watch the trailer. 9:00 PM ET on Travel Channel

SEASON PREMIERE: The seventh season of Southern Charm begins with the breakup of Austen and Madison's on-again off-again relationship, but events take a life-threatening turn when the coronavirus sweeps in. 9:00 PM ET on BRAVO

SEASON FINALE: Decision day has finally come on Married at First Sight, as this season's couples check in with host Kevin Frazier to reveal whether they're getting the fairytale endings they hoped for. 8:00 PM ET on Lifetime

SERIES PREMIERE: Three decades after America's Funniest Home Videos first hit the airwaves, American still can't get enough candid looks at their fellow citizens making fools of themselves. At least that's what hosts Matt Walsh, Brian Posehn, Ron Funches and Ali Kolbert are hoping as TruTV launches Top Secret, a new reality series that mines security camera footage for laughs. 10:30 PM ET on truTV
