The First-Ever Virtual DNC Promises to Be Anything But Conventional

2020 has been… unique, and a year like no other calls for a political convention like no other. Until recently, the Republican National Committee was aiming to hold a convention that at least in some manner resembled the conventions we're all used to seeing on TV (Think big crowds, balloons, and lots of confetti), but the Democratic National Committee has been planning for a virtual convention for months. Today we'll get our first peak at what they've been cooking up. Also today: HBO's I May Destroy You nears its season finale, Amy Schumer her chef husband Chris Fischer serve up a new season of Amy Schumer Learns to Cook, and it's Snatch Game time on Drag Race Canada. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Monday:

LIVE COVERAGE: They may basically be infomercials at this point, but as Aaron Barnhart writes today, televised party conventions remain a vital part of our political process. The 2020 Democratic National Convention kicks off tonight with remote speeches from some very influential names in American politics, including Jim Clyburn, Bernie Sanders, Amy Klobuchar, John Kasich, and Michelle Obama. Coverage begins at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PT on cable news and PBS, and at 10:00 PM ET/7:00 PM PT on ABC, CBS and NBC.

NEW EPISODE: With just a week to go before the season finale of I May Destroy You, Arabella (Michaela Coel) is making headway on her book while she continues to piece together what happened. 9:00 PM ET on HBO

SEASON PREMIERE: The second season of Amy Schumer Learns to Cook finds the comic trying her hand at pigs in a blanket, pot stickers, potato skins, and pina coladas.
