Steve Carell Looks to the Stars for Laughs in Netflix's Space Force

    The Office has long been one of the most popular shows on Netflix, so it makes sense that they'd want to work with Greg Daniels on a new show, especially one that reunites the Office co-creator with Steve Carell. Time will tell whether Space Force has what it takes to fill the void at Netflix later this year when The Office jumps to NBC's Peacock streaming service, but with a stellar cast that includes Carell, John Malkovich and Lisa Kudrow, it's a safe bet many will be sampling the new series. Also tonight: America attempts to cut its own hair… together, RuPaul's Drag Race airs its virtual finale, and Defending Jacob rests its case. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Friday:

    SERIES PREMIERE: Steve Carell and Greg Daniels re-team for the workplace comedy Space Force, which takes a satirical look at the men and women tasked with fulfilling the wishes of a president who tweets his desire to see "Boobs on the moons by 2024." Read our review. Streaming on Netflix

    SPECIAL PRESENTATION: One thing many Americans have in common right now is out control hair. To wit, CBS has tapped Kelly Osbourne, Lindsey Vonn, P.K. Subban, and a host of other guests for Haircut Night in America, a special broadcast to help viewers at home color, cut, and style their own hair. What could possibly go wrong?     SEASON FINALE: As Primetimer's Kevin O'Keeffe writes today, RuPaul's Drag Race Season 12 had more than a few curveballs thrown in its direction, but has managed deliver a surprisingly strong season. Tonight's virtual finale will feature the announcement of Miss Congeniality, jaw-dropping performances, a lip sync battle for the ages, and the crowning of this season's winner. 8:00 PM ET on VH1

    SEASON PREMIERE: Ramy Youssef returns in the second season of Ramy, where he continues his spiritual journey while struggling to understand the community around him, not to mention his own family.     SERIES PREMIERE: Kristen Bell, Stanley Tucci, Josh Gad, and Tituss Brugess lead an all star cast in Central Park.     SERIES FINALE: Apple TV+ seems to have found its first bona fide hit with Defending Jacob, and critics agree: Primetimer's Aaron Barnhart recently wrote that the eight-part series starring Chris Evans, Jaeden Martell, and Michelle Dockery is a fascinating tale well told. Streaming on Apple TV+

    MOVIE PREMIERE: At the end of the 1950s, New Mexico switchboard operator Fay (Sierra McCormick) and radio DJ Everett (Jake Horowitz) encounter a strange frequency in The Vast of Night, only to discover people in their small town have heard these broadcasts before.
