LeVar Burton settles lawsuit, allowing him to use his famous Reading Rainbow catchphrase

  • PBS affiliate WNED, which owns the Reading Rainbow brand, sued Burton and his digital reading company for “theft and extortion” in early August for promoting his podcast as “a Reading Rainbow for adults.” Burton was also sued for using his catchphrase, “but you don’t have to take my word for it.” WNED and Burton quickly settled the lawsuit in a matter of weeks.
