Jimmy Kimmel lashes out at U.S. senator who “just lied to my face” with his “Jimmy Kimmel Test”

  • Jimmy Kimmel takes on Bill Cassidy (ABC)

Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, reacting to Kimmel’s emotional monologue on the birth of his baby son with heart defects, proposed the “Jimmy Kimmel Test” for preexisting conditions. And he even announced his intention on Kimmel’s show. Well, it turns out that Cassidy’s new healthcare bill with Senator Lindsey Graham, the Graham-Cassidy health care bill, flunks the “Kimmel Test.” “Not only did Bill Cassidy fail the Jimmy Kimmel test — he failed the Bill Cassidy Test. He failed his own test,” Kimmel said in his monologue Tuesday night. “They’re trying to sneak this scam of a bill,” Kimmel said, noting that “this guy, Bill Cassidy, just lied right to my face.” Kimmel knocked down criticism that he's politicizing his baby son, saying that, yes, he is politicizing his son. In advance of Tuesday’s monologue, Kimmel posted a photo of him and his infant son to Instagram with the caption, “Billy's helping me write tonight's monologue.”
