James Corden’s wife went into labor 30 minutes before The Late Late Show taping, so Harry Styles was enlisted as a last-minute guest-host

The former One Direction star was tapped as a last-minute fill-in as Corden welcomed his third child on Tuesday with wife Julia Carey. “Our wonderful host @JKCorden had his baby today with a half hour to go before the show!” tweeted executive producer Ben Winston. Corden tweeted: “Today we welcomed a beautiful baby daughter into the world. Both she and her mother are doing great. We can’t stop smiling. Thank you Harry for stepping in to host the show at 2 and a half hours notice! x x x” Styles made some cracks at Corden’s expense in his monologue, adding: “I was sitting at home two hours ago in this suit, obviously. I got the call Jules was going into labor so James naturally called the funniest man he knew… he obviously wasn’t available.”
