Michael "Mad Mike" Hughes, who was once a guest on Tosh.0 for his Flat Earth views, was the subject of the upcoming Science Channel series Homemade Astronauts when he crashed his self-made rocket on Saturday in the desert in Barstow, California. He was 64. "Michael 'Mad Mike' Hughes tragically passed away today during an attempt to launch his homemade rocket. Our thoughts & prayers go out to his family & friends during this difficult time. It was always his dream to do this launch & Science Channel was there to chronicle his journey," the Science Channel said in a statement.
