Cop Rock DVDs are sold out thanks to John Oliver

The Last Week Tonight host introduced many viewers to Steven Bochco's short-lived 1990 ABC musical drama in in introducing his Feb. 28 segment on police raids. Thanks to the mention, Cop Rock DVDs are now hard to find. In an email obtained by Mediaite, Shout Factory! said to a consumer: "We’re writing to let you know that Cop Rock: The Complete Series is currently out of stock. There was a system-wide outage caused by a surge in orders due to the segment featured on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. We anticipate having stock sometime in May; we will ship orders at that time."
