Simmons, whose HBO sports talk show Any Given Wednesday was canceled last year after a few months, says the former president predicted his return to writing. Simmons recalls a 2015 interview he had with the then-president: “He said to me, ‘You gotta write more. I mean, you’re okay on TV, but you need to write more.’ I was like, ‘He thinks I suck on TV,’” Simmons said.
