Amazon renews The Expanse for Season 5

The Expanse's pickup comes months before the entire Season 4 drops on the streaming service on Dec. 13. Season 4 is The Expanse's first season on Amazon following Syfy's cancelation of the space-set sci-fi series in May 2018 after three seasons. Amazon rescued The Expanse two weeks later. Season 4 will find the crew of the Rocinante exploring new worlds beyond the Ring Gate. According to The Expanse's logline, "Humanity has been given access to thousands of Earth-like planets, which has created a land rush and furthered tensions between the opposing nations of Earth, Mars and the Belt. While Earthers, Martians and Belters maneuver to colonize Ilus, the first of these planets, larger dangers await the explorers.”
