AMC developing a sci-fi drama set in Orphan Black's universe

A potential series connected to the 2013-17 Canadian sci-fi thriller that aired on BBC America is in early development, according to Variety's Joe Otterson, adding: "Sources stressed, however, that this would not be a spinoff or reboot of the original series, but rather a completely new story set in the same world. The producers are currently seeking a writer for the project and are looking to bring in multiple people to pitch different takes on what the show could be." It's unclear if the potential show would air exclusively on AMC, which recently decided to simulcast Season 2 of Killing Eve with BBC America.
