Love Island debuted here in the US just last week, but  the five-nights-a-week reality competition has already divided viewers. Some find the show an addictive fun summer romp, while others find it base and demeaning.

Judging from the talk in our own forums, however, there's one thing everyone can agree upon: the contestants on the show say the word "like" way too much (even the show's narrator addressed it in an episode late last week).

As it turns out, this isn't the first time viewers have taken notice of an over-use of the word "like" on Love Island. In the UK, where the show is wildy popular, one episode last year clocked in with a total of 219 likes

So, just how many times do the contestants say "like" on our version of Love Island? Can we beat the Love Island UK record of 219? We decided to take a count, using the show's most action-packed episode yet, in which Kyra stole Caro's man, and Zac tried to explain why he once left a woman in bed for another. The results follow below:

According to one press report, Love Island UK's over-use of the word  "like" prompted one British grade school to ban the word. Time will tell whether Love Island USA has as far-reaching an influence, but at the very least it would seem to have the makings of a pretty lethal drinking game.
