SNL's Dueling Town Halls: PBS Biden vs. Wrestlemania Trump

  • The prevailing takes from last week's head-to-head town halls with Joe Biden on ABC and Donald Trump on NBC were that Biden was like a soothing PBS special while Trump was a battle with the enemy of his state, and that was where the Saturday Night Live cold open took their requisite spoof.

A Trump supporter on Twitter had compared Biden's event to Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood as if that was an insult. Jim Carrey even put on the cardigan sweater to bring that joke home, before donning a Joy of Painting's Bob Ross-style wig to take it to the next level. Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin's Trump got clobbered with a steel chair from Savannah Guthrie (Kate McKinnon), after Kamala Harris (Maya Rudolph) interrupted him to wonder what was up with the exuberant black woman sitting behind Trump apparently auditioning for some Fox News pundit money.

Saturday Night Live airs Saturday nights at 11:30 PM ET on NBC.
