Ted Danson's Mr. Mayor Encourages Los Angelenos to "Go Buy Drugs Now!" in New Trailer

Mr. Mayor, the new comedy from 30 Rock creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock sees Ted Danson playing a billionaire businessman who runs for mayor in a failed attempt to impress his teenage daughter, only to end up winning.

So now he has to deal with actually running Los Angeles with a deputy mayor (Holly Hunter) who hates him and a staffer (Bobby Moynihan) who mistakes his daughter for his wife. This all leads to moments like the one in the show's just-released new trailer (above), where he cuts the ribbon on LA's 10,000th marijuana dispensary and encourages his constituents to "go buy drugs now!"

Mr. Mayor premieres Thursday, January 7, at 8:00 PM ET on NBC.
