Abbott Elementary Returns, Netflix Explores The Principles of Pleasure

    Just when we thought comedy was dead on network television, along comes Abbott Elementary. ABC's critically-acclaimed freshman sitcom returns from a month-long hiatus tonight. Also today: Netflix aims to lift the veil on women’s sexual pleasure in The Principles of Pleasure, Jeff Foxworthy returns to the stage for his first solo stand-up special in 24 years, Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel sits down with NBA veteran Jalen Rose, and more. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Tuesday:

    Abbott Elementary: New episode. The hit sitcom returns with an episode that sees the teachers prepare for Open House night. As Janine (Quinta Brunson) prepares to meet her struggling student’s mother, Gregory (Tyler James Williams) learns how Ava (Janelle James) got the principal job, and Barbara’s (Sheryl Lee Ralph) daughter’s visit creates a commotion. 9:00 PM ET on ABC

    The Principles of Pleasure: Complete limited series. Sex, joy, and modern science converge in this Michelle Buteau-narrated series that celebrates the complex world of women’s pleasure and puts stubborn myths to rest. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    Jeff Foxworthy: The Good Old Days: Stand-up special. In his first solo special in 24 years, Jeff Foxworthy riffs on life before cell phones, parenting struggles, his marriage, and more. The special was filmed at the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis in October 2021. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards: Special presentation. Music’s biggest names gather in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles to celebrate the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio throughout 2021. Performers include Megan Thee Stallion, John Legend, Charlie Puth, Jennifer Lopez (recipient of this year’s icon award), and LL Cool J, who also serves as host. 8:00 PM ET on FOX

    Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel: New episode. The HBO series tracks Jalen Rose’s effort to provide free education to underserved youth in his native Detroit, profiles American ski legends the Cochrans, and updates a 2018 segment on Russia’s International Army Games. 10:00 PM ET on HBO

    FBI: New episode. After another body is found with the same sophisticated binding as their local victim, the team realizes they have a cross-country serial killer on their hands. The case has ties to Isobel’s (Alana De La Garza) father, Robert (guest star Nestor Serrano), leading to revelations about their fractured relationship. Followed by new episodes of FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted. Watch preview. 8:00 PM ET on CBS

    This Is Us: New episode. Kate's (Chrissy Metz) journey takes center stage as she reflects on her relationship with her father and travels to San Francisco with Toby (Chris Sullivan). Watch preview. 9:00 PM ET on NBC

    Shackleton’s Endurance: The Lost Ice Ship Found: Special presentation. Following the recent discovery of Shackleton’s ship, The Endurance, History explores the adventurer’s ill-fated 1914 Antarctic expedition and maritime archaeologists’ relentless mission to find this holy grail of shipwrecks. The 90-minute documentary serves as a continuation of the network’s 2020 special about the first expedition to locate the lost ship. 10:00 PM ET on History Channel

    NBA Basketball: With the end of the regular season in sight, teams begin to jockey for position in their conference rankings. TNT offers two marquee matchups tonight:

    • Atlanta Hawks at New York Knicks 7:30 PM ET/4:30 PM PT
    • Los Angeles Clippers at Denver Nuggets 10:00 PM ET/7:00 PM PT

    NHL Hockey: The NHL dominates streaming as the Nashville Predators face the Los Angeles Kings. 10:30 PM ET/7:30 PM PT on Hulu and ESPN+
