Somehow it took thirty years, but Dateline NBC enters the docudrama realm tonight with its first-ever scripted series. Narrated by Keith Morrison, The Thing About Pam stars Renée Zellweger as Pam Hupp, the real-life subject of five Dateline episodes beginning in 2014.

The Thing About Pam: Limited series premiere. Renée Zellweger stars in this six-part docudrama about the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria. In a widely-criticized move, Zellweger wore a fat suit to play Pam Hupp, the last person to see Faria alive and the woman at the center of a diabolical, headline-making scheme. Undercurrent: The Disappearance of Kim Wall: Original documentary. Director Erin Lee Carr helms this two-part documentary about the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall.
