    Let the Winter Games begin! The Beijing Olympics kick off in earnest with the Opening Ceremony Friday, and events throughout the weekend on NBC and Peacock. The high-octane thrills continue with Reacher, Amazon’s TV adaptation of the Tom Cruise-led film franchise, and Apple TV+’s Suspicion, starring Uma Thurman as a prominent businesswoman who sets out to save her son after he’s kidnapped.

    Also: Starz expands the Power universe yet again, Sweet Magnolias returns to Netflix, the NFL’s best players face off at the 2022 Pro Bowl, and more. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this weekend:

    FRIDAY FEBRUARY 4

    Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony: Special presentation. The Beijing Winter Olympics begin as the cauldron is lit during the Opening Ceremony. Early risers can catch the ceremony as it happens at 6:30 AM ET/3:30 AM PT on NBC and Peacock. It will also be rebroadcast in primetime at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT on NBC

    Reacher: Complete Season 1. Newly adjusting to civilian life, Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, but locals soon place him at the scene of the town’s first homicide in two decades. As Reacher works to prove his innocence, he realizes he’s caught in the middle of a conspiracy with far-reaching implications. Watch trailer. Streaming on Amazon Prime Video

    Suspicion: Series premiere. When the son of a prominent American businesswoman (Uma Thurman) is kidnapped, the eye of suspicion quickly falls on four seemingly-ordinary British citizens who were at the same hotel on the night in question. The cat and mouse thriller also stars Kunal Nayyar, Noah Emmerich, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Tom Rhys Harries. Two episodes drop today. Watch trailer. Streaming on Apple TV+

    Sweet Magnolias: Complete Season 2. Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Helen (Heather Headley), and Dana Sue’s (Brooke Elliott) lives become even more complicated when long-hidden secrets emerge, disrupting jobs, changing lives, and shifting the balance of power in their small southern town.     Phat Tuesdays: Complete docuseries. Amazon looks at The Comedy Store’s influential Tuesday night showcase that helped launch the careers of some of the most famous Black comics in this three-episode docuseries.     Torn: Original documentary. Director Max Lowe comes to terms with the death of his father, world-renowned mountaineer Alex Lowe, in National Geographic’s award-winning documentary. Watch trailer. Streaming on Disney+

    Book of Love: Original film. When an uptight English writer (Sam Claflin) discovers that his dull, failing novel has become a major hit in Mexico, where Spanish translator Maria (Verónica Echegui) has rewritten it into an erotic page-turner, he reluctantly travels to Mexico for the book tour, only to find the love he’s long been searching for.     The Afterparty: New episode. Chelsea (Ilana Glazer) shares her version of events with Detective Danner (Tiffany Haddish). Streaming on Apple TV+

    Howard High: Original film. Based on the 2020 miniseries of the same name, this dramedy follows a musical group that hopes to save their school from shutting down by winning a $50,000 competition. Watch trailer. Streaming on Tubi

    Through My Window: Original film. After years of secretly watching her hot neighbor, Raquel hopes to turn her crush into something more in Netflix’s Spanish-language drama. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    SUNDAY FEBRUARY 6

    Power Book IV: Force: Series premiere (special time). Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) leaves New York behind and attempts to make a new life for himself in Chicago in Power’s latest spinoff series. Isaac Keys, Lili Simmons, and Gabrielle Ryan also star. The drama debuts in a special time tonight before moving to its regular 8/7c timeslot next week. Watch trailer. 9:15 PM ET on Starz

    Claws: Series finale. Niecy Nash’s crime drama reaches its conclusion tonight after four seasons of nail salon capers. In the finale, Desna (Nash) has her final showdown with her nemesis, Quiet Ann (Judy Reyes), as she and her crew prepare to escape from Palmetto. 9:00 PM ET on TNT

    2022 Pro Bowl: Stars from the NFC and AFC meet in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium to duke it out in the Pro Bowl. The Indianapolis Colts lead their NFL counterparts with seven participating players, though the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers follow close behind with six apiece. 3:00 PM ET/12:00 PM PT on ABC and ESPN
