    Vanessa Hudgens will have viewers seeing triple again today with The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star, the third film in her popular Netflix holiday franchise. Also today, Alanis Morisette is the subject of a new HBO documentary, Mindy Kaling turns her eye on The Sex Lives of College Girls, and Star Trek: Discovery returns for Season 4. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Thursday:

    The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star: Original film. When a priceless relic is stolen right before Christmas, Queen Margaret and Princess Stacy (both Vanessa Hudgens) recruit Margaret’s look-alike cousin Fiona (also Hudgens) and a mysterious man from her past (Remy Hii) to retrieve it, rekindling the sparks of a holiday romance.     Music Box: Jagged: Original documentary. Alanis Morissette recounts her meteoric rise in this feature doc about her groundbreaking album, “Jagged Little Pill.” Ahead of the film’s debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, Morissette slammed its “salacious agenda” and accused director Alison Klayman of “lull[ing] her into a false sense of security.” Watch trailer. 8:00 PM ET on HBO

    The Sex Lives of College Girls: Series premiere. Four college roommates (Alyah Chanelle Scott, Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, and Renée Rapp) at New England’s prestigious Essex College get their first taste of freedom in Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble’s original comedy.     Dogs in Space: Complete first season. In the not-so-distant future, scientists send a fleet of genetically enhanced dogs to explore the galaxy in search of a new planet to call home.     Sort Of: Complete first season. In this Canadian sitcom acquired by HBO Max earlier this fall, Bilal Baig (who also serves as a creator alongside Fab Filippo) plays Sabi Mehboob, a non-binary millenial trying to balance their various roles as a child of Pakistani immigrant parents, a bartender at an LGBTQ bookstore, and a caregiver to young children.
