CBS Says Goodbye to Mom After Eight Seasons and 180 Episodes

    Allison Janney’s sitcom tenure comes to an end tonight with the series finale of Mom, CBS’ long-running comedy. The Chuck Lorre series premiered in 2013 as a two-hander starring as Janney and Anna Faris as an estranged mother/daughter duo struggling with addiction who attempt to pull their lives and their relationship together by trying to stay sober. Faris exited the series last year, and CBS announced the series' end this past February.

    Also today: ESPN takes viewers inside the WNBA, Jean Smart stars in the new HBO Max comedy Hacks, and Grey's Anatomy re-airs a classic 2006 episode. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Thursday:

    SERIES FINALE: Allison Janney's CBS sitcom Mom draws to a close as Bonnie (Janney) gains a new outlook on her sobriety and Jill (Jaime Pressly) and Andy (Will Sasso) embark upon a new chapter in their relationship.     SERIES PREMIERE: Primetimer favorite Jean Smart stars as a veteran comic who's assigned a 25-year-old writer (Hannah Einbinder) to freshen up her act in Hacks, HBO Max’s new comedy from the masterminds behind Broad City.     ENCORE PRESENTATION: ABC is counter-programming Mom's series finale tonight with a two-hour re-airing of Grey's Anatomy's classic two-part bomb-in-a-chest-cavity episode. Part one originally aired after the 2006 Super Bowl and was the show's most-watched episode ever. With guest stars Kyle Chandler and Christina Ricci. 8:00 PM ET on ABC

    SEASON FINALE: Sheldon's (Iain Armitage) fraternal twin Missy (Raegan Revord) deals with her first heartbreak in an emotional Young Sheldon Season 4 finale that leads the entire Cooper family to the brink. Watch preview. 8:00 PM ET on CBS
