Zack Snyder's Justice League premieres today on HBO Max.

In the four years since the widely panned theatrical release of Justice League, the "Snyder Cut" of the film has taken on almost mythical proportions, with fans and members of the cast and crew repeatedly calling on Warner Bros to release a second version of the film more in line with its original director's vision.

It seemed like a longshot until last year's launch of HBO Max, when the studio agreed to bring Zack Snyder back on board for a four-hour recut of the film that's set to include deleted scenes and $70 million worth of new material and visual effects. Can it restore the film's reputation and breathe new life into the flagging DC Extended Universe? With the resurrected film's release on HBO Max today, we'll soon find out.
