Vikings Makes History Again, Bowing Its Final Episodes on Amazon

    History channel's first-ever scripted series Vikings made quite the splash when it premiered back in 2013, drawing a record six million viewers and ushering in a new era of scripted programming for the basic cable channel. Today it makes history again as it upends the model it created, releasing its final ten episodes to Amazon Prime subscribers ahead of their planned 2021 cablecast on History.

    Also today: Comics eulogize 2020 in a new Amazon special, Bowl Season continues on ESPN, and Netflix launches a new reality competition that may get you more excited about all those leftovers in your fridge. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Wednesday:

    SEASON PREMIERE: Series creator Michael Hirst is promising surprises, tears, and astonishment as Vikings comes to a close, dropping its final (and no doubt bloody) ten episodes on Amazon. Watch trailer. Streaming on Prime Video

    NCAA FOOTBALL: College football's 2020 Bowl Season continues with two scheduled games today:

    • Wake Forest vs. Wisconsin at the Dukes Mayo Bowl at 12:00 PM ET on ESPN
    • Oklahoma vs. Florida at the Cotton Bowl at 8:00 PM ET on ESPN
