The Big Three Turn Forty as This Is Us Returns For Season 5

With tensions at a fever pitch between Kevin and Randall, a shared birthday celebration seems destined to bring new drama as This is Us kicks off its fifth season tonight with two back-to-back episodes. Also today: Bachelorette Clare's special bond with Dale rankles the other men, Sarah Cooper lands on Netflix, and CBS brings The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal back to prime time with some Covid-era tweaks. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Tuesday:

SEASON PREMIERE: After a seven-month break, it's catch-up time for the Pearsons as the time-hopping This is Us returns addresses our current moment, with new plotlines set to include Black Lives Matter and the ongoing pandemic. Watch the trailer. 9:00 PM ET on NBC

NEW EPISODE: The attention Clare has been paying to Dale has not gone unnoticed on The Bachelorette, and it doesn't seem to be sitting well with the other men vying for her attention. Watch a preview. 8:00 PM ET on ABC

COMEDY SPECIAL: Sarah Cooper burst into the national consciousness earlier this year after videos of her lip-syncing the musings of President Trump went viral. Today the comic brings her off-beat  brand of comedy to Netflix with some help from some famous friends in her first-ever comedy special, Sarah Cooper: Evertyhing's Fine. Primetimer's Joe Reid watched the special and filed this review.  Streaming on Netflix
