HBO Max Resurrects the Bartlet Administration in West Wing Reunion

    If ever there were a time to wish for a more aspirational presidency, this would be it. Enter Aaron Sorkin and the surviving cast of The West Wing, who are taking to HBO Max today with an updated restaging of one of the show's classic episodes.

    Also today: Donald Trump and Joe Biden are participating separately in dueling prime time town halls, Netflix is social distancing, and Star Trek: Discovery returns for Season 3. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Thursday:

    REUNION SPECIAL: It's been seventeen years since they ended their seven-season run on NBC, but A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote reunites the show's surviving cast with series creator Aaron Sorkin (along with some other special guests) as they stage an updated version of the show's classic Season 3 episode, "Hartsfield Landing."     SPECIAL PRESENTATION: With this week's second presidential debate canceled, both candidates are appearing in their own competing town halls tonight. First up is Joe Biden and ABC's The Vice President and the People, which will be moderated by George Stephanopoulos live from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT on ABC

    SPECIAL PRESENTATION: NBC is taking some heat for scheduling its own town hall with President Trump at the same time as Biden's tonight, but nevertheless Savannah Guthrie is set to host an hour-long NBC News Trump Town Hall with Florida voters, live from Miami beginning at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT on NBC

    SEASON PREMIERE: Talk about a time jump. The third season of Star Trek: Discovery picks up a whopping 950 years later, as Burnham and her crew emerge from the time-bending wormhole from last year's season finale. Watch the trailer. Streaming on CBS All Access

    SERIES PREMIERE: From executive producer Jenji Kohan (Orange is the New Black), the remotely shot series Social Distance looks at life in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic.     NEW EPISODE: Memphis and Christmas's hopes to keep their duo intact for another week on Big Brother fell by the wayside last night as Nicole won the Veto. Now one of them will be joining the jury, while the other will survive to the final four. Tonight's live eviction will decide. 8:00 PM ET on CBS

    SEASON PREMIERE: Tarek El Moussa and Christina Anstead were scheduled to return with new episodes of Flip or Flop back in August, but like just about everything these days, that was easier said than done. Fortunately, the wait for Season 9 ends tonight at 9:00 PM ET on HGTV
