HBO Bows A-List Socially Distanced Satire Coastal Elites

    Six months into the pandemic, the quarantine series and films are rolling in. Joining the ranks of Freeform's recent Love in the Time of Corona and Netflix's upcoming Social Distance this Saturday night is the HBO original movie, Coastal Elites. Aspiring to address the unique cinderbox that is our current national moment, the film boasts an A-list cast, and a tepid recommendation from Primetimer's Aaron Barnhart. Also: Our Cartoon President meddles with the 2020 election, Power Book II moves to its new night and Fox revives the fall TV preview. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this weekend:

    SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 12

    PREMIERE MOVIE: Jay Roach (Austin Powers) directs writer Paul Rudnick's Coastal Elites, in which Bette Midler, Sarah Paulson, Issa Rae, Kaitlyn Dever, and Dan Levy struggle to come to terms with life in quarantine. Read our review. 8:00 PM ET on HBO

    MADE FOR TV MOVIE: Lifetime's latest nuanced tale of everyday horror is Deranged Granny, in which Barbara (Wendie Malick) is so excited by her son's marriage to a divorcée with kids, that she blows several mental gaskets and loses all sense of boundaries when told she'll be a step-granny. 8:00 PM ET on Lifetime

    SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 13

    SPECIAL PRESENTATION: The Masked Singer's fourth season doesn't start until September 23rd, but The Masked Singer: Special Sneak Peek is set to whet our appeitites with a tantalizing glimpse at the season ahead. Watch a preview8:00 PM ET on Fox

    SEASON PREMIERE: The third season premiere of Our Cartoon President finds Cartoon Trump struggling to act like a real human after the Republican Party threatens to nominate someone else for 2020.     SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Though it's not likely to bear much resemblence to the classic Fall TV Previews of old, tonight's 2020 Fox Fall Preview will be jam-packed with clips and previews of the networks' pandemic-proof fall season. 9:00 PM ET on Fox

    NEW EPISODE: After Thursday's emotional eviction, the Head of Household competition was an endurance affair, with the remaining Big Brother houseguests tasked to stand up on a wall for as long as it takes to win. Tonight we'll see how that competition plays out, and who the winning HOH will put up as nominees. With three secret powers in the hands of Daniele, David, and Christmas, those nominations could be a particularly tricky affair. 8:00 PM ET on CBS

    NEW EPISODE: We've reached the conclusion of the Casa Amor twist on Love Island. Will the original Islanders stick with their tried-and-true partners? Or will they explore love with a newcomer? 9:00 PM ET on CBS
