Lucifer Returns to Netflix With One Helluva Family Reunion

    What's better than one Tom Ellis in the Fox-turned-Netflix series Lucifer? Two, naturally. Ellis is playing both Lucifer Morningstar, and his demon twin brother Michael as thre series drops the first half of its fifth season. Also today: Netflix aims for a slamdunk with its latest adult animated comedy, VH1 bows RuPaul's Drag Race: Vegas Revue, and HBO's Room 104 finds Kevin Nealon stuck in the 90s. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Friday:

    SEASON PREMIERE: Emancipated from the network TV confines of its first three seasons on Fox, Lucifer has really spread its wings since hopping to Netflix in 2019. Dropping today, the first eight episodes of Season 5 promise to continue that trend, complete with a black and white noir episode that's already got fans in a tizzy. Watch the trailer.     SERIES PREMIERE: From the streaming platform that brought us Big Mouth and BoJack Horseman comes the new adult animated series, Hoops. Leading a voice cast of comedy all-stars, Jake Johnson (New Girl, Stumptown) plays a foul-mouthed high school basketball coach doing his best to turn his struggling team's chances around in order to ride their success to the big time.     SERIES PREMIERE: Television's ever-expanding Ru-niverse adds yet another constellation of stars with RuPaul’s Drag Race: Vegas Revue, which follows the drama surrounding preparations for a live Drag Show as the Flamingo is Las Vegas. Watch the trailer. 8:00 PM ET on VH1

    PREMIERE MOVIE: Based on the novel by Krystal Sutherland, Chemical Hearts follows Grace (Riverdale's Lili Reinhart), a transfer student who joins her new school's newpaper and falls in love with fellow writer Henry Page (Austin Abrams). Watch the trailer. Streaming on Prime Video

    NEW EPISODE: Return to the decade of slap wraps, Koosh balls, and MC Hammer, as Kevin Nealon, Ron Funches, and Erinn Hayes check into the anthology series Room 104 for an episode that tracks one '90s family's experiences as they exist — seemingly suspended in time — within the walls of the show's namesake hotel room. 8:00 PM ET on HBO

    SEASON PREMIERE: As Season 3 opens, Lena Griskey (Jessica Lord ) is nearing the end of her time at the Paris Opera Ballet School in Find Me in Paris.
