TV's British Invasion Continues With HBO Max's Frayed and Under My Skin on Hulu

As Primetimer's Aaron Barnhart wrote earlier this week, American TV has taken on a distinctly international flavor this summer as production shutdowns have led to an unprecedented number of foriegn shows on US networks and streamers. Today sees the debut of two well-received scripted series from the UK on HBO Max and Hulu. At the same time, The CW is unspooling another episode of its own import from across the pond, the reality whodunnit Killer Camp. Also today: Oprah Winfrey launches a new series for Apple TV+, Holey Moley and Tough as Nails return with new challenges, and the ladies of the RHONYC are off to Cancun. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Thursday:

SERIES PREMIERE: Comedian Sarah Kendall earned a BAFTA nomination last year for her role as a once-wealthy London housewife in Sky One's riches-to-rags dramedy Frayed. After her financier husband's scandalous death, Sammy (Kendall) is forced to pack up her kids and return to her childhood home in seaside Australia. Read our review. Streaming on HBO Max

SERIES PREMIERE: Hulu's week-long "British Binge-Cation" continues with the coming of age drama In My Skin in which sixteen year-old Bethan (Gabrielle Creevy) does her best to handle the ins and outs of teen life, while maneuvering a troubled family life at home. NEW EPISODE: It's not too late to jump in on The CW's Killer Camp, one of just a handful of shows belonging to a fervently appreciated reality TV subgenre.In episode 3 of the British reality whodunnit, the campers face a freezing lake and a race for cash. 8:00 PM ET on The CW

SERIES PREMIERE: Oprah Winfrey is back with a new show on Apple TV+. The Oprah Conversation will see Winfrey in discussion with thought leaders from around the world on topics of the day. "How to Be an Antiracist" author Abram X. Kendi is her debut guest. Streaming on Apple TV+

NEW EPISODE: The challengers on Tough As Nails must complete a section of missing railroad track, punch in for individual tests, and face off in another head to head competition. 8:00 PM ET on CBS

NEW EPISODE: Get ready for some more exteme spiritual healing (and all the drama that comes with it) as attendees at TBS's Lost Resort continue to seek catharsis in the woods of Costa Rica. 10:00 PM ET on TBS

NEW EPISODE: Joe Tessitore and Rob Riggle host a new episode of Holey Moley, where Olympian Greg Louganis and actor Steve Guttenberg are once again judging the most inane golf-related diving competition on television. 8:00 PM ET on ABC

NEW EPISODE: Luann organizes a spa day for The Real Housewives of New York City before the ladies head to Cancun for some fun, some sun, and the inevitable squabbles. 9:00 PM ET on Bravo
