    As Joe Reid writes today, standup comedy specials have been a hallmark of the Peak TV era, with most every streamer (but especially Netflix) getting into the act. Today broadcast TV joins the party, as The CW launches a seven-week series of standup specials, starting with the network TV debut of Jim Gaffigan's 2018 VOD special, Noble Ape. Also tonight: Gayle King looks at our collective fury over George Floyd's murder, Lifetime honors women working the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, and World of Dance keeps its competitors on their toes. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Tuesday:

    SERIES PREMIERE: Jim Gaffigan kicks off the seven-week summer standup series The CW Happy Hour with Noble Ape, his 2018 comedy special detailing the medical crisis that befell his wife and family a year earlier, and almost led to his retirement. Watch the trailer. 9:00 PM ET on The CW

    NEW EPISODE: The auditions continue on America's Got Talent as judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara weigh in on all the action. 8:00 PM ET on NBC

    SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Gayle King anchors Justice For All, a CBS News-produced special looking at how George Floyd's death has ignited a nationwide movement to end police brutality and systemic racism. Included are interviews with Joe Biden, Attorney General William Barr and Christian Cooper, the Central Park bird watcher whose video of a white woman calling the police on him went viral over the Memorial Day weekend.
