Hunters, Clone Wars and Gentefied Lead Another Banner Day for Streaming

    In his first recurring role in a television series, Al Pacino leads a ragtag team of Nazi killers in Hunters on Prime Video. Meanwhile, Netflix is tackling the challenges facing longtime residents of booming cities in Gentefied. And Disney+ continues the saga of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, as the series returns on a new platform after a long absence. Also today: Fresh Off the Boat airs its two-part series finale, HBO has a fresh episode of High Maintenance, and Anne Hathaway, Willem Dafoe, and Ben Affleck star in a major motion picture debut for Netflix. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Friday:

    SERIES PREMIERE: Though he's done some great TV work over the years, Hunters  — from executive producer Jordan Peele —  marks Al Pacino's first lead role in an ongoing series. The show follows Meyer Offerman (Pacino) and his eclectic crew of Nazi hunters as they attempt to stop a Nazi uprising in 1970s New York. Read our review. Streaming on Prime Video

    SEASON PREMIERE: Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi project may be in limbo at the moment, but there are many reasons to be excited about Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker return after a six year absence in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, with the first of twelve new episodes dropping today.     SERIES PREMIERE: Set in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights, Gentefied follows three cousins as they attempt to save their grandfather's beloved taco shop by preemptively adapting to the intensive changes taking place in the neighborhood, while doing their best to stay true to their family's roots.     SERIES FINALE: ABC says Constance Wu's Twitter tirade last year had nothing to do with the network's decision to cancel Fresh Off the Boat, but it's hard not to wonder. In part one of tonight's two-part finale, the family van appears to have reached the end of the road, leading Jessica and Louis to look back on all the places its taken them. The final episode finds the boys contemplating their futures, while their parents consider what lies ahead for them as well. Watch the preview8:00 PM ET on ABC

    MOVIE PREMIERE: Fresh off a limited theatrical run, the Netflix original political thriller The Last Thing He Wanted stars Anne Hathaway, Willem Dafoe, Rosie Perez and Ben Affleck in the tale of a Washington Post reporter who goes from campaign reporting to working as an arms dealer in central America in the 1980s.
