HBO Jumps on Peak TV's Stephen King Bandwagon With The Outsider

    There was a time when Stephen King was synonymous with hit or miss network mini-series events like The Stand, The Tommyknockers, and The Langoliers, but the last few years have seen a series of top-notch adaptations from the prolific novelist's rich and seemingly bottomless body of work. Following in the footsteps of Under the Dome and Castle Rock is HBO's Sunday night premiere of The Outsider, which promises the continue to horror maestro's run of prestige TV.

    SATURDAY JANUARY 11

    CABLE PREMIERE: HBO's big Saturday night movie this week is John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. The third installment in Keanu Reeves' ultra-violent, late-career renaissance co-stars Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Halle Berry, and Anjelica Huston. Watch the trailer. 8:00 PM ET on HBO

The series stars Ben Mendelsohn and Jason Bateman in the tale of a heinous smalltown murder and the seemingly ironclad proof of guilt that ensnares a popular town resident.     AWARDS SHOW: Award season marches on as Taye Diggs hosts The 25th Annual Critics Choice Awards.
