The Affair Begins Its Final Season With a Time Jump

    The weekend wraps up with several tales of revenge, a bid for redemption and a few choice repeats. Here are the highlights:

    SEASON PREMIERE: Joshua Jackson is conspicuously absent from the final season of The Affair, but a time jump adds Anna Paquin to the cast, where she'll play Cole and Alison's grown daughter. In the season opener, Helen faces the fallout from a tragedy, as Joanie prepares herself for a difficult moment.  Watch the preview. 9:00 PM ET on Showtime

    SEASON PREMIERE: Dwayne Johnson returns for a fifth (and final) season of Ballers, where his character, finance manager Spencer Strasmore, continues to guide his clients through the flashy business world of professional football. The season premiere finds Spenser and his roster of high profile clients arriving at a series of career turning points. Watch the preview. 10:30 PM ET on HBO

    NEW EPISODE: With strong ratings and plenty of buzz, it's no surprise Succession scored an early Season 3 reneweal earlier this week. In tonight's episode, Logan makes an attempt to acquire a media rival, as Shiv works to convince Tom that the move is a tactical mistake. Meanwhile, Greg says too much in an interview with Logan's biographer and worries how it with affect his standing in the family. 9:00 PM ET on HBO

    SEASON PREMIERE: The sixth season of Power starts off with a bang, as Tasha targets Ghost for Terry's murder, even as Ghost seeks his own flavor of revenge. Meanwhile Tommy and Tariq recover from the loss of a friend. This final season will air in two halves, with the first starting tonight, and the second returning in January. 8:00 PM ET on Starz

    SERIES PREMIERE: Kirsten Dunst stars in the 90s period dramedy On Becoming a God in Central Florida. The show follows Krystal Stubbs (Dunst) as she devises a special kind of revenge against a multibillion dollar pyramid scheme that took her family to the cleaners. Watch the preview. 10:00 PM ET on Showtime

    NEW EPISODE: After a blockbuster premiere, The Righteous Gemstones settles in for week two. David Gordon Green takes the directing reins as Jesse finds Amber, Pontius, and Abraham remembering an estranged family member. He then assigns them to find video footage to help him understand what happened the previous night. 10:00 PM ET on HBO

    • NFL Preseason continues as the Tennessee Titans face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers. 8:00 PM ET on NBC
    • Chesapeake Shores returns for a sudsy fourth season as Kevin and Sarah ponder marriage, while David and Jess run their bed and breakfast. This six-episode season will be followed by a Hallmark movie. 8:00 PM ET on Hallmark
    • Killer Motive delves in to the twisted motives behind notoriously gruesome murders. 7:00 PM ET on Oxygen
