If our featured pick today (the second season of Netflix's serial killer drama Mindhunter) leaves you craving more light-hearted fare, other highlights include Amazon's first stand-up comedy special, a baffling documentary, and a feature comedy that would make Eddie Murphy jealous.

SEASON PREMIERE: Executive producer David Fincher (Zodiac) returns with a second season of Mindhunter.  (For those who missed Season 1, our Eve Batey has a refresher.) The coming season will see the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit (led by series stars Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany)  investigating The Atlanta Child Murders, which occurred from 1979-1981. Look for appearances this season from The Son of Sam and Charles Manson (played by Damon Herriman, who is currently playing a younger version of Manson in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood). STAND-UP COMEDY: Amazon is making a big push into stand-up comedy programming (look for much more next Friday), and if their first special, Jim Gaffigan: Quality Time is any indication, they mean business. Gaffigan, who is known for working his family into his stand-up routines, shot the special At Minneapolis' State Theatre back in March, with his wife, Jeannie Gaffigan, directing and producing. SERIES PREMIERE: Yale physician Dr. Lisa Sanders turns her long-running New York Times Magazine column into a new series for Netflix. Diagnosis follows patients suffering from truly unusual illnesses as they seek to understand what is happening to their bodies by presenting they cases to the public and crowdsourcing the responses. Watch the preview. Streaming on Netflix

STREAMING PREMIERE: After debuting at Sundance in January, the mind-bending documentary The Amazing Johnathan Documentary comes to Hulu. The film follows the edgy, possibly dying comedian/magician on his "comeback tour," which occurs three years after the headliner says he was told he had one year to live. Ethical dilemmas arise for the filmmakers as they investigate their subject further, and realize he never quite seems to be telling the whole truth. Watch the preview. Streaming on Hulu

MOVIE PREMIERE: In a case of stunt casting that Eddie Murphy would have to admire, Sextuplets stars Marlon Wayans as a soon to be father who learns from his birth mother that he is actually one of six, and embarks on a journey to meet his five siblings, all of whom are played by Wayans. Watch the preview. Streaming on Netflix
